Before moving into Nutrition I studied extensively in Business and worked in this area for many years.

I graduated with First Class Honours from UCD in 1994 and was the recipient of the Dean’s List Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in 1993/94 at UCD.  I achieved second place in Ireland in the final exams of ACCA (accountancy) in 1997 and went on to study in London being placed at the top of my class in the Corporate Treasury exams in 1999.

Eating psychology - what is it all about?

 
 

Eating psychology coaching is an exciting and cutting edge approach to working with modern-day eating challenges. It effectively addresses weight concerns,chronic dieting, poor body image, yo-yo dieting, emotional eating and binge eating.  Many health issues such as fatigue, mood, hormonal imbalances have a nutrition component. Eating challenges don't exist inside a vacuum - instead poor eating habits are oftentimes connected to work-related stress, relationship issues, unhealed pain from adverse childhood experiences and life stresses. My approach is holistic, looking at your life as a whole and using your relationship with food as a doorway to explore other areas of your life that are out of alignment.  Food may be used as a symbolic substitute for love, intimacy, connection and to allay boredom or loneliness.  Negative messages around food, body image, restrictive dieting have caused much suffering; eating psychology uses a positive and empowering approach to support you in making peace with food and living your best life.
